Hazara Division’s Experiences Significant Snowfall
News Desk
Abbottabad: Heavy snowfall fell in the upper parts of the Hazara division on Wednesday, while heavy rain fell in the plain areas over the previous 24 hours. The period is predicted to last until Friday, causing the temperature to fall below Celsius.
The Met Office stated that one to four feet of snow fell in the Hazara division’s popular tourist destinations, including Galyat, Thandyani, Kaghan, Naran, Shogran, and other areas.
Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) and Galyat Development Authority (GDA) workers continued clearing snow with the use of heavy gear although the Naran road was blocked for traffic due to snowfall.
Tourists have been advised by both authorities to avoid travel in Galyat and Naran during periods of severe snowfall and, if necessary, to use tire chains to get through the snow.
The temperature has dropped significantly in the districts of Abbottabad and Manshera since the rain and snow started falling in the Hazara division. The district administration has advised residents to take safety precautions.
To prevent any unforeseen incidence, people must turn off all gas appliances before going to bed and they should also wear warm clothing in extreme cold. APP
