Hasan Ali Slams India’s Reluctance to Visit Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali raised his voice on Friday regarding two key issues affecting Pakistani cricket: the exclusion of off-spinner Sajid Khan from the Test squad against South Africa and the ongoing reluctance of India to tour Pakistan.

In an appearance on Samaa Digital’s “Zor Ka Jor,” Ali expressed his disappointment over Sajid Khan’s omission, particularly after his strong performance against England. “Sajid Khan had a stellar outing against England, and dropping him after such a display is unfair.

It can harm his confidence. Even if he’s not in the playing XI, he deserves a place in the squad,” Ali said. The pacer’s comments reflect a broader concern over team selection decisions, suggesting that consistency and player morale must be prioritized for long-term success.

On a broader cricketing issue, Ali took a swipe at India’s refusal to tour Pakistan, a matter that has long been a source of tension. “India should come to Pakistan and play. Unfortunately, the news we hear is discouraging.

Our fans want to see players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. If it were up to me, I would make every effort, but you can’t force things,” Ali said, reinforcing the desire of Pakistani fans to see top-tier cricket at home.

Turning his attention to Pakistan’s recent loss to Zimbabwe, Ali emphasized the instability within the team. “Instability is the root cause of such defeats. We sent a new team to Zimbabwe, giving opportunities to younger players.

Losses are part of the learning process when experimenting,” Ali remarked. He also pointed out that while losing to the USA was a surprise, the defeat to Zimbabwe was not a complete shock. “Zimbabwe is tough at home.

The series win and the trophy are ours, and we should focus on that victory,” he added.
Discussing his own career, Ali revealed the frustrations surrounding central contracts. “I received a call saying I was given a central contract, but a few days later, the new selection committee informed me that I wouldn’t be receiving it due to injury,” Ali explained.

Despite the setback, he remains focused on earning his place through performance. “If I perform in domestic cricket, I will earn it myself.

Stability in the team is key to progress. If the management changes every six months, we’ll keep facing unexpected losses like the one to the USA,” he said.

Ali’s message was clear: consistency, hard work, and a stable environment are crucial for the growth of the team and for individual players to reach their full potential. “Whenever I recover from injuries, I focus on domestic cricket.

Playing in different conditions teaches you a lot. Hard work always pays off,” he concluded, reaffirming his commitment to the sport despite the challenges.
