Harvest festival in GB to start from Nov 1

Gilgit: Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary Muhiudeen Wani on Sunday announced that GB Harvest Festival would be organised in November next month to showcase the bounteous produce of GB including fruits, vegetables, dried and value-added products.

He was talking to the media. Wani said that potential traders, suppliers, processors and private sector partners would be facilitated from cross-country to attend the harvest festival and engage directly with the Farmer Business Cooperatives representatives to build trading relations.

The chief secretary added that B2B meetings will be conducted on the side-lines of the festival to initiate business contacts. It is to mention here that ASF will organize the event in collaboration with the G-B government.

GB Harvest Festival: The harvest festival is a celebration in a one-of-a-kind village in Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan. The province has seven districts but every district’s weather is different therefore this festival mostly celebrated in different date depending upon the region’s climate to barley crops ready. Every district language is different but the culture is same. This festival is mostly celebrated in the first week of July.
