North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda: Justin Greaves celebrated his maiden Test century as the West Indies amassed 450-9 declared, seizing control of the first Test against Bangladesh.
Playing in just his third Test and his first on home soil, the 30-year-old remained unbeaten on 115, anchoring the innings with a cautious 181-ball performance. Greaves’ effort was bolstered by a vital 140-run partnership with Kemar Roach (47), who achieved his highest Test score.
Bangladesh, starting their reply, struggled at 40-2 by stumps.
Both openers were dismissed within the 20 overs bowled. Zakir Hasan (15) was clean-bowled by Jayden Seales, while Mahmudul Hasan Joy (5) was caught off Alzarri Joseph.
Mominul Haque (7) and Shahadat Hossain (10) resisted further collapse, ending the day’s play without additional losses. The visitors face a challenging task to match the hosts’ imposing total.
