Islamabad: Former World Champion Babar Masih has established an academy at Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, to develop snooker talent in the nation and expose the twin cities’ talented youth.

Babar Masih said, “Young people in the country adore the game of snooker; therefore, I decided to build a snooker academy, Babri Snooker Academy.”

Speaking at the academy’s inauguration, Babar remarked, “I am confident that through this academy, the best snooker players will emerge in the future who will make the nation proud at the international level.”

A former champion believed that the academy would encourage young people in the Twin Cities to engage in healthy activities.

Holy Family Catholic Church In-charge Sajid Amin Khokhar stated that the physical and mental growth of a person is significantly influenced by sports.

Sajid Amin added that the academy is essential to fostering and supporting the twin cities’ snooker potential. The academy should be advantageous to young people.

“Just like Babar, they should also make the country proud at the international level through sports,” stated Social Worker Haris Ghori, adding that there is a lot of talent among our youth.

“There is a need for the district administration to encourage healthy activities like sports for the youth,” said Haris.
