‘Grand Peace Fair’ Advocacy Takes Center Stage in Peshawar

Peshawar: Participants in a panel discussion on Tuesday underscored the importance of establishing peace as a crucial element for the development of a healthy society.
They emphasized that every member of society should strive to achieve this objective, setting aside personal interests and differences.
The discussion took place during a two-day “Grand Peace Fair” organized by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), in collaboration with the Department of International Relations at Peshawar University and the International Relations Students Association (IRSA).‘Grand Peace Fair’ Advocacy Takes Center Stage in PeshawarThe primary aim of the event was to educate the youth of the province about the significance of peace and harmony while projecting a positive image of the province and the merged areas. Participants highlighted the necessity for a thorough analysis of situations and making informed decisions, urging people to disregard speculations and rumors.
The speakers expressed the belief that hosting such events would contribute to countering negative narratives, changing people’s mindsets, and presenting a softer image of the province and the newly merged districts.
The “Grand Peace Fair” was attended by Caretaker Minister for Newly Merged Districts (NMDs), Amir Abdullah, and Brigadier Tashfeen as chief guests.‘Grand Peace Fair’ Advocacy Takes Center Stage in PeshawarVice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem, President (IRSA) Ahmad Ali Khan, and Incharge (IRSA) Dr. Khurshaid were also present at the occasion.
On the first day of the fair, a panel discussion on peace was organized, moderated by Dr. Saima Raza.
The panel included Caretaker Minister for NMDs Amir Abdullah, Professor Dr. Hussain Shaheed, Senior Journalist Saleem Safi, Senior Journalist Mushtaq Yousufzai, Dr. Amir Raza, and Senior Journalist Shams Mohammad. The participants discussed the prevailing situation in the merged districts and other parts of the country.
As part of the event, stalls were set up by KPCTA for students of merged districts, showcasing the culture of tribal areas, including Hujra. This initiative aimed to promote cultural awareness and foster a sense of unity among the youth of the region.
