Govt Lifts Ban on Donkey Skin Export

News Desk

Islamabad: The federal government has lifted the ban on the export of donkey skins, introducing a new policy framework for the trade.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce, exports will now be permitted exclusively from the Gwadar Free Zone. Only registered and approved slaughterhouses will be allowed to apply for permission.

The ministry’s directive effectively overturns the Economic Coordination Committee’s (ECC) 2015 decision that had barred the export of donkey skins. The latest notification amends the Export Policy Order 2022 to incorporate the change.

Officials said the move is aimed at regulating the trade under strict conditions while ensuring compliance with government oversight.
