Islamabad: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched a nationwide crackdown on individuals allegedly involved in anti-state hate campaigns on social media, initiating legal action against five named suspects.

According to officials, cases have been registered against Adeel Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Muhammad Umar, Nazir Butt, and Ahmed Noorani for allegedly sharing false, provocative, and misleading content targeting state institutions.

The First Information Report (FIR) claims that the accused spread inflammatory material during heightened Pakistan-India tensions and continued to circulate such content online, thereby undermining public trust and spreading chaos.

In a statement, the NCCIA asserted that strict legal measures would be taken against anyone involved in activities deemed hostile to the state or its institutions. The agency warned that social media platforms are being closely monitored, and those attempting to incite unrest or discredit national institutions will face serious consequences.

The NCCIA has also appealed to the public to assist in identifying individuals engaged in anti-state digital activities. Citizens are encouraged to share relevant information, including screenshots, links, names, or any other evidence, via WhatsApp to support ongoing investigations.

Authorities emphasized that the campaign is part of a broader effort to uphold national security and curb the misuse of digital platforms for propaganda or incitement.
