Google Meet’s New AI Note-Taking Feature
News Desk
Islamabad: Google has introduced a new AI-powered feature for its video chat service, Google Meet, called “Take Notes for Me.” This feature automatically generates meeting notes during Google Meet sessions.
Administrators can manage this feature through a new setting in the Admin panel, which can be accessed by navigating to Apps > Google Workspace > Google Meet > Gemini Settings. Before a full rollout, admins have the option to test it within specific organizational units (OUs) or groups.
The “Take Notes for Me” feature will be available only to users with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on licenses. Meeting notes will comply with the organization’s Meet retention policy and will be stored in the meeting organizer’s Drive folder. After the meeting, both the organizer and the user who enabled the feature will receive an email containing the meeting notes.
Please note that the meeting recap will not be available immediately. Instead, a temporary notice will indicate that “Meet is taking notes and will produce a summary with action items and other meeting details,” according to Google.
