Gold prices surge by Rs14,800 per tola

Islamabad: Gold prices registered a sharp increase in the local market on Thursday, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs14,800 per tola to Rs529,162, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs12,689 to Rs453,671, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold went up by Rs11,632 to Rs415,880.

Silver prices also moved upward, as per tola silver rose by Rs109 to Rs9,255, whereas the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs93 to Rs7,934.

In the international market, gold prices climbed by $148 to $5,064 per ounce, while silver prices gained $1.09 to settle at $87.80 per ounce.
