Gaza Mourns as Footballer Barakat Falls Victim to Israeli Attack

Islamabad: In the month of Ramadan, amidst the ongoing conflict, Israel’s attacks on Palestinians persist.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, the renowned Palestinian footballer Muhammad Barakat was tragically killed during an Israeli bombing of his home in Khan Yunis, Gaza.
Barakat, who represented the Palestine National Team and played for local clubs, was revered as a legend in Khan Yunis.
With 114 career goals and as the captain of Khan Younis Youth Club, he left an indelible mark on Palestinian football.
His passing is mourned by players from local football clubs, who describe him as a formidable opponent – smart and exceptionally fast.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan.
In a statement, Guterres emphasized the significance of the holy month, which advocates for peace and security for Muslims worldwide.
He condemned the continued bombings, bloodshed, and loss of life in Gaza, urging a ceasefire to honor the sanctity of Ramadan.
