FWICE Bans Pakistani Artists After Kashmir Attack
News Desk
Islamabad: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has imposed a blanket ban on Pakistani artists, musicians, and actors from performing in India following the tragic attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 24 tourists.
The FWICE also confirmed that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s upcoming film Abir Gulaal will not be released in India.
“In light of the recent attack in Pahalgam, FWICE is once again compelled to issue a blanket boycott on all Pakistani artists, singers, and technicians involved in any Indian film or entertainment projects. This includes collaborations or performances anywhere in the world,” the FWICE stated. The notice also mentioned that any collaborations with Pakistani talent would lead to disciplinary action.
“We would like to emphasize that any member of our organization, or its affiliate associations, including actors, directors, technicians, producers, and production houses, found cooperating with Pakistani personnel will face disciplinary measures. Moreover, we will take all necessary steps to ensure that Abir Gulaal is not released in India,” the notice added.
It is worth noting that Fawad Khan’s Abir Gulaal has already been banned, and there are strong calls for a boycott of another upcoming film featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, Sardaar Ji 3, which stars Diljit Dosanjh.
Here are some reactions from Pakistani fans:
One fan commented, “Fawad should now focus on working in Pakistan instead of going to India and working with C-list actors.” Another said, “Hania Aamir’s PR efforts were all in vain.” One more fan added, “They get humiliated, yet still want to work in India.”
This is the current sentiment circulating on the internet regarding the ban.
