Four Women Rescued from Smuggling Attempt to Saudi Arabia
News Desk
Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration unit thwarted an attempt to smuggle four women to Saudi Arabia under the pretense of performing Umrah. The operation was conducted at Karachi Airport.
According to FIA officials, the women—identified as Shazia Bano, Zamira Azeem, Lubna, and Sana Shahzadi—were holding Umrah visas. However, initial investigations suggest they were being sent to Saudi Arabia for forced labor.
Authorities revealed that all four women had previously traveled to Saudi Arabia. A woman named Asia, suspected of orchestrating the scheme, was reportedly responsible for arranging their travel.
Sources indicate that Asia is a former Punjab Police employee and had covered the travel expenses for the victims.
Officials further disclosed that an agent named Wasim Gujjar was facilitating their stay and expenses in Saudi Arabia. The FIA is now gathering more details from the affected women to track down the agents involved in the trafficking network.
Further investigations are underway.
