Four Killed, One Injured Amid Heavy Rains In KP: PDMA

Peshawar: Due to torrential rain in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, four people were killed and one was injured, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) report.
According to the report released on Saturday, 12 houses are partially damaged due to floods and rains across the province, and nine houses are partially damaged in Lower Chitral.
The KP Relief Department, District Administration, PDMA, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and related institutions are on alert, stated the Relief Department Spokesman.
The spokesperson further said that affected residents of Lower Chitral have already been relocated to safer locations, adding that a thorough evaluation of the damage will begin as soon as the flood waters in Lower Chitral have subsided.
Food items (dry rations) are dispensed to the affected families, and relief materials have been dispatched to the victims. Meanwhile, the district administration has mobilised heavy machinery for the speedy restoration of the roads.
A spokesman said that PDMA has already issued a letter to all the concerned institutions and district administrations on July 17 and 19, urging them to take precautions against anticipated heavy rains and flooding.
