Four killed, 26 injured in Separate Accidents in Punjab

Hyderabad: As many as four persons were killed and 26 others injured in separate road accidents in Muzaffargarh and Thatta districts of Punjab on Saturday

According to rescue sources, four persons were killed and six others seriously injured after a collision between a passenger van and a truck near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.

In the first incident, four people were killed and six seriously injured following a collision between a passenger van and a truck near Adda Muhammadwala in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.

According to Rescue 1122, women and children were among the victims. 

Rescue 1122 dispatched four ambulances, three from Muzaffargarh and one from Layyah. The four deceased have been transferred to Chowk Sarwar Shaheed hospital.

The six injured, identified as Shamim, Benish, Zanib, Nadeem, Walisha Batool, and Sameer, are being transported to the hospital. Among them, three are reported to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, as many as 20 persons were injured in a fatal road accident in Thatta.  

The Thatta accident injured were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital where the hospital authorities declared an emergency to provide timely treatment.  

A hospital spokesman reported that two critically injured, needing vascular surgery, were moved to Karachi.

He mentioned that 14 injured individuals remain admitted in different wards of the hospital, while four have been discharged after receiving first aid.

Medical Superintendent Dr Aijaz Ahmed Abbassi visited the patients and instructed the doctors to provide the best possible medical care.

According to police sources, at least seven people died in the road accident, which occurred near Jhirk between a Suzuki mini pickup truck and a dumper truck.

The deceased and injured were residents of the village Manik Behrani and were traveling in the mini-truck to Jamshoro district.
