Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts dense fog likely to envelop some plain areas of Punjab, reducing visibility within 24 hours.

Fog and smog are expected to persist in upper Sindh, Punjab’s plains, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the morning and night hours. The synoptic situation indicates prevailing continental air over most regions, with a possible westerly wave affecting western Balochistan on Thursday.

Expect predominantly cold, dry weather in most plain areas, partly cloudy conditions in western districts, and cloudy weather in northwestern Balochistan. Rainstorms might occur in Gwadar, Chaghi, Turbat, and surrounding areas.

Over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated, notably reaching very cold temperatures in the northern regions. The lowest minimums recorded were Leh -12 C, Skardu -07 C, Gupis, Kalam, Kalat, Srinagar -05 C, Dir, and Quetta -03 C.
