Islamabad: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has urged road users to stay updated through its official social media accounts before embarking on journeys during the foggy season.
Speaking to APP, NHMP North Zone Spokesman Muhammad Saqib advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy hours, as smog and fog often envelop areas in the evening, leading to temporary motorway closures for public safety.
“Travelers are advised to plan their journeys in daylight, use fog lights, maintain safe distances from other vehicles, and avoid speeding,” he emphasized.
The spokesman also highlighted that motorway closures are precautionary measures to prevent accidents and safeguard the lives and property of road users. He urged travelers to complete their journeys before the onset of fog and follow safety guidelines to ensure smooth and secure travel.
