Peshawar: Flash floods washed away several houses and link bridges in Lower and Upper Chitral as residents of Miragram, Koghzi, Kari and Kailash Valley evacuated their houses.

Deputy Commissioner Chitral Muhammad Ali informed that land communication has been disconnected with Upper Chitral and the district administration has dispatched rescue teams to the affected areas.

Garm Chashma and Dineen Road have been opened, said Muhammad Ali, adding that the highways in Chitral are inundated but no fatalities have been reported.

Local authorities have been on high alert, closely monitoring water levels in rivers, dams, and reservoirs.
