Islamabad: Shamon Masih, a sanitary worker, has been tirelessly seeking justice for his father, Sharif Masih, who went missing over five years ago. The case was registered in Tatley Aali police station, Gujranwala on July 10, 2020 and revolves around a property dispute where influential landlords allegedly grabbed Sharif Masih’s land, supported by forged documents. Despite having bills and papers proving rightful ownership, Shamon’s family has been unable to reclaim their property.

The property in question still has utility bills in Sharif Masih’s name, further solidifying the family’s claim. Shamon has submitted applications to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Minority Affairs Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, but so far, no substantial action has been taken. Given the CM’s emphasis on protecting minority rights and her recent initiatives, Shamon hopes for a favorable outcome.

Shamon has run from pillar to post, seeking justice, but to no avail.

He fears for his father’s life and requests the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate his father’s disappearance and the illegal possession of their property. With limited resources and options, Shamon is counting on the authorities to ensure justice and bring the perpetrators to account.

The case highlights the struggles faced by many in similar situations, where powerful individuals exploit the vulnerable. Shamon’s persistence in pursuing justice, despite limited resources, is commendable.
