Five Brick Kilns Sealed

News Desk

Haripur: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Abbottabad sealed five brick kilns for omitting pollution and violating EPA laws and regulations in Haripur.

To safeguard the environment and enforce Peshawar High Court (PHC) orders, the EPA Director conducted thorough inspections of brick kilns on Saturday and examined various brick kilns, meticulously assessing their compliance with court orders and environmental regulations.

He was accompanied by the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) and Assistant Director (AD) of the EPA.

Earlier, PHC ordered the EPA to seal all brick kilns in the province that were posing a threat to the environment and emitting pollution. It also ordered the kiln owners to shift their plants to modern Zigzag technology.

According to the sources, the owners of the brick kiln had filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) against the PHC verdict, which was accepted.

Although the EPA and district administration had not received any of the court verdicts, they had also stopped further action against those who did not shift their kilns into new technology plants.
