First KP Travelogue on China Launched at Governor’s House

Peshawar: In a significant cultural milestone, the first travelogue by a columnist from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa focused on China was launched on Tuesday at the Governor’s House.

The travelogue, authored by Naz Parveen and titled “Xinjiang kay Khushaal Uyghur” (“The Happy Uyghur of Xinjiang”), is now featured by China Window, a cultural center in Peshawar promoting Sino-Pak friendship.

The unveiling ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries including Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi, and President of Peshawar Press Club Arshad Aziz Malik. The event underscored the significance of Parveen’s work in fostering public diplomacy between Pakistan and China.

Through vivid descriptions and personal encounters, Parveen’s travelogue offers a heartfelt narrative of her journey through China’s Xinjiang province. She portrays the real stories of Muslims living in Xinjiang, depicting them as thriving and content amidst their cultural heritage.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while formally launching the travelogue, expressed optimism about its role in strengthening bilateral relations. He praised China Window’s efforts in fostering cultural exchange and friendship between the two nations.

Former Ambassador Naghmana Hashmi and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed also commended Parveen’s effort, highlighting its potential impact on public perception and bilateral relations. They emphasized the travelogue’s role in enhancing understanding and appreciation between the people of Pakistan and China.

Parveen’s eloquence in portraying her journey through Beijing, Chengdu, Kashgar, and Urumqi captivates readers and provides insightful data on China’s progress and rich historical tapestry.
