First Female SHO Appointed At Hafizabad District

Hafizabad: Sub Inspector (SI) Mehwish Aslam is appointed as the first woman Station House Officer (SHO) of Hafizabad district at Kaleki Mandi police station by District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal.

According to the police spokesman, Mehwish has become the first woman SHO of any police station in the history of Hafizabad.

A few months ago, she showed bravery and arrested a rape suspect for trying to escape from the court premises after the cancellation of his bail.

SI Aslam was previously in-charge of the Gender Crime Circle Pindi Bhattian and joined the police department as sub inspector in 2015, said the spokesman.

According to the DPO, female police officers will be given equal opportunities as SHOs in all police stations.

He said, “The purpose of the appointment of a female SHO is to encourage women.”

“Women are rendering valuable services in every field, therefore their capability cannot be ignored,” stated Rai Mazhar.
