Michigan: In a family in the American state of Michigan, the first daughter is born after 138 years to an American couple Andrew Clark and Carolyn Clark on March 17.
The couple appeared on the popular US show Good Morning America, where Andrew Clarke claimed that their family had a baby girl after 138 years.
Carolyn said that Andrew had told her about his family background and that every child born in his family was a boy. She said, “We were very happy when we learned that we were going to have a daughter; I was surprised that this would be the first daughter born in our family since 1885.”
The couple said that “all members of the family are very happy about the birth of a daughter; it is a priceless gift for us.”
The couple has named their daughter Audrey. Andrew stated that it was really hard to come up with a name because they had never thought of a girl’s name before.
The mother of the baby girl said that the arrival was “even more special” because their daughter was “worth the wait and all the struggles.”
The couple said they experienced a miscarriage in 2021, so when they found out a year later that they were pregnant with another child, the arrival of this little one offered them even more delight.
“We honestly didn’t care whether we were expecting a boy or a girl when we found out we were pregnant. We were just grateful to be pregnant and prayed for a good pregnancy and baby,” Ms. Clark mentioned, adding that “the fact that she was a girl was just icing on the cake.”
