Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engineer Ameer Khattak, has directed the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against all illegal housing schemes operating within RDA’s jurisdiction.

The move is part of a decisive crackdown to protect citizens from fraud and unauthorized development.

The directive came during a special meeting held on Wednesday, where Engineer Khattak instructed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate to take strict legal action against all illegal schemes.

He emphasized that all RDA directorates, including Estate Management, must perform their duties fearlessly, responsibly, and professionally, while continuing strict and indiscriminate action against illegal operators.

“The authority will take impartial and decisive measures to protect citizens’ rights, enforce urban development laws, and eliminate fraud and corruption,” Khattak said.

The Commissioner also called for increased public awareness, urging citizens to avoid investing in unapproved housing projects. He advised the public to verify project approvals through the official RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and to engage only in transactions related to approved schemes.

The meeting was attended by senior RDA officials, including the Additional Director General, Chief Planner, Director Administration, Director Land, Director Estate Management, and Director Finance.
