Fire in Koh-e-Jandaran area of Kohlu under control

Following hectic efforts of 72 hours, the fire-fighters of the Forest Department, Kohlu on Saturday controlled the fire in Koh-e-Jandaran area of district Kohlu, Balochistan.

Over a two-dozen fighters and local people participated in the fire control operation. However, the fire has damaged a large area of the forest and well as wild life.

According to details, unidentified persons had lit a fire in Koh-e-Jandaran area of ​​Kohlu district of Balochistan on Friday, as a result, the fire engulfed the entire area.

Local residents informed the Forest Department staff who reached the spot and started controlling over the fire. Abdul Samad Zarkun, a zonal officer of the Forest Department, worked day and night with his team and finally managed to control the fire after 72 hours.

The public reacted angrily, saying that if the district administration and other agencies had been serious about putting out the fire, they might have saved the area’s forests and wildlife from such a catastrophe.
