Financial Irregularities Exposed in Balochistan Sports Audit

Quetta: Financial irregularities amounting to Rs 32.47 million have allegedly been uncovered in the Balochistan Sports Department during the fiscal years 2021-2023, as reported by Daily Jang on Saturday. 

An audit report has exposed the misuse of funds within the department, revealing illegal expenditures of millions of rupees over the two-year period.

The report indicates that funds were misappropriated from the offices of the Director General of Sports and the Director of Youth Affairs, with Rs 13.6 million reportedly disbursed to various organizations without proper oversight.

The audit further revealed a lack of a proper mechanism to monitor the distribution and utilization of these funds. Moreover, no certified documentation was provided to account for the expenditures.

In light of these findings, the audit report has recommended a thorough investigation into the financial mismanagement within the Balochistan Sports Department, urging authorities to hold those responsible accountable for the misuse of Rs 32.47 million.
