Islamabad: As Ramadan reaches its halfway mark, the Muslim community across Pakistan is actively engaged in preparations for Eid-ul-Fitr, flooding markets, shopping malls, and bazaars in a frenzy to complete their purchases.

The festive atmosphere is evident as people of all ages rush to buy clothing, shoes, accessories, and household essentials in anticipation of the upcoming celebrations.

According to a report, commercial centers in major cities are witnessing an unprecedented rush, with customers eager to take advantage of special Eid discounts and promotions. The footage showed packed shopping malls and overcrowded marketplaces as citizens scrambled to secure their purchases.

Bazaars Buzzing High

Shoppers across the country expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for the Eid preparations. “The shopping malls are packed, but the sales are amazing. I have already bought so much, and I am not even done yet,” said Ali from Multan. Similarly, another customer from Peshawar shared, “The energy in the markets is electric. Everyone is so excited for Eid. I love this time of year.”

Long queues have become a common sight, as shoppers patiently wait for their turn. “I have been queuing up for hours to buy fabric for my sister’s Eid dress. The lines are long, but I know it will be worth it in the end,” said a woman from Faisalabad.

Others are making multiple trips to different markets in search of the best deals. “I have been to three different markets today, and they are all packed. I just want to get some new clothes for my kids for Eid,” said a shopper from Lahore.

Tailors and Retailers Overwhelmed

The surge in shopping activity has led to a significant increase in demand for tailors, with many struggling to meet the overwhelming number of orders. “I have been waiting in line for hours to get my kids’ clothes stitched. The tailor is overwhelmed with orders,” said a woman from Islamabad. A tailor from Rawalpindi confirmed the rush, stating, “I have been working non-stop for days to meet the demand for stitched clothes. It’s a busy time, but it’s also a blessing to be able to provide for my family.”

Meanwhile, clothing brands and retailers are capitalizing on the festive shopping fever by offering exclusive discounts. “We are offering a special Eid discount on our clothing range. It’s a great opportunity for customers to shop and save,” said a spokesperson for a popular clothing brand in Lahore.

Traffic Congestion, Festive Atmosphere

With thousands of shoppers thronging the markets, traffic congestion has become a major challenge in urban centers. “The streets are jam-packed, and the traffic is crazy. But despite the chaos, everyone is so happy and festive. It’s a really special time of year,” said Omar from Rawalpindi.

Despite budget constraints, many shoppers find it hard to resist the attractive deals. “I am trying to stick to my budget, but it’s difficult when there are so many amazing deals and discounts. I keep finding things I ‘need’ to buy,” said a customer from Quetta.

Surge in Home Decor and Food Sales

Apart from clothing and accessories, sales of home decor and furniture have also surged, as families prepare to welcome guests for Eid celebrations. Additionally, food and grocery sales have witnessed a sharp rise, with shoppers stocking up on traditional Eid treats and ingredients for special meals.

With just weeks to go before Eid, the shopping frenzy is expected to intensify further, as citizens across Pakistan continue their preparations for one of the most awaited celebrations of the year.
