Festival Square To Entertain Residents With Folk Music, Food Outlets

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) intends to develop state-of-the-art facilities in F-9 Park by providing more recreational opportunities to the residents of the capital and utilised all available resources to create a model park for the city which is spread over an area of 750 acres, informed CDA official.
The CDA has planned to develop Festival Square in F-9 Park, which would provide food outlets and folk musicians to the residents of the federal capital. The Festival Square will feature food trucks, street performers, folk musicians, and handicraft stalls.
The Authority has asked the interested, well-established food brands and firms to submit their applications to become a part of the Festival Square until November 1 on the official ‘@ CDA the capital’, stated official on Friday.
The authority has allocated a quota for establishing stalls in the Festival Square, including 40 percent for men, 55 percent for women, and five percent for transgender people, further said official.
The CDA has asked that only well-established brands with at least five years of experience be preferred.
Under the directions of CDA Chairman Capt (Retd) Anwar ul Haq, the concerned official is directed to ensure a proper lighting system in the park, particularly along the jogging and walking tracks, kids play area and other areas.
The Chief has also directed the deputation of more security guards within the park, in addition to the guards deputed at entry gates, so that visitors could be provided with a safe and secure environment.
The authority has installed more light poles and planted shadier and fruit trees, particularly along the natural stream flowing through the park, in addition to improving the cleanliness of the stream.
