APP Multan: On July 9th, Asad Shah, the father of Sania Zahra, called for justice following the alleged murder of his daughter by her husband. Shah responded to claims made by Ali Raza Bukhari, Sania’s husband, who suggested that Sania’s death might have been a suicide at her in-laws’ home. Shah argued that if Bukhari’s claim were true, it would be an even greater crime than murder. Shah criticized Bukhari’s defense, stating that he had witnessed significant injuries on his daughter’s body, including a broken jaw and a protruding tongue, when it was returned to him from her in-laws. He revealed that he had taken photographs of these injuries. Shah announced that he will present evidence to the Senate’s Standing Committee on Human Rights next week, aiming to prove that his daughter was brutally murdered for not granting her husband a share of the family property. He explained that in March of this year, his daughter contacted him at her husband’s request to demand her share of the property. Although Shah was willing to comply, his wife discouraged him, which led to a dispute with his son-in-law. Shah claimed that Bukhari used derogatory language against him and his wife after being refused. Shah also alleged that the local police, who suspected foul play, arrested Bukhari but released him within 12 hours due to the influence of a local MNA. He denied allegations that his daughter had committed suicide or that his wife had attempted to harm herself, which were made by Bukhari in a press conference. Earlier, Bukhari had denied any involvement in Sania’s death, which was initially reported as a suicide. The forensic report from Multan indicated that the ligature mark on Sania’s neck was consistent with hanging, and the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging. Post Views: 112
