Islamabad: The murder case of TikToker and social media influencer Sana Yousuf continued in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, where the victim’s father recorded his statement before the court, recounting the events surrounding his daughter’s killing.

The hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka.

During the proceedings, Sana Yousuf’s father told the court that he was living with his family in Sector G-13 of Islamabad, adding that his daughter was a well-known social media influencer.

He stated that on the day of the incident, he had gone out for work.

Later in the evening, his wife informed him via phone that an unidentified assailant had shot their daughter. She was immediately shifted to a hospital, where medical staff confirmed her death.

According to his statement, the body was later moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). He added that police recorded his statement, took custody of his daughter’s mobile phone, and prepared a report of the crime scene.

Earlier, the court appointed a state counsel to proceed with the case due to the absence of defense counsel. The court ruled that the state-appointed lawyer would represent the accused to ensure the trial moves forward without delay.

During the hearing, Prosecutor Naveed Kayani informed the court that the defense counsel had been attempting to delay proceedings and had failed to cross-examine witnesses.

He noted that cross-examination had previously been conducted in line with directives from the High Court.

Following the court’s decision, State Counsel Tariq Khan carried out the cross-examination of one witness. The statement of the victim’s father was also formally recorded during the session.

The court has summoned additional witnesses for the next hearing, as the prosecution has so far presented statements from 23 witnesses in the case.
