Father Kills Daughter for Refusing to Delete TikTok Account

Rawalpindi: In a shocking case of alleged “honour killing,” a man in Rawalpindi shot and killed his 16-year-old daughter for refusing to delete her TikTok account, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Rawat Police Station. According to a police spokesperson, the accused had demanded that his daughter remove the social media app from her phone. When she refused, he reportedly shot her dead.

Initially, the family attempted to portray the incident as a suicide. However, a police investigation revealed it to be a case of premeditated murder, committed in the name of “honour.”

Following the incident, the accused went into hiding but was arrested on Wednesday, the spokesperson added.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the registration of a case and the prompt arrest of the suspect. He condemned the act, stating that crimes and violence against women and children are intolerable.

CPO Hamdani also directed the Rawat Police to ensure a strong prosecution by preparing a comprehensive challan supported by solid evidence to secure a conviction in court.

The Rawat Police have registered a case and successfully apprehended the alleged killer within a short period, the police spokesperson confirmed.
