False Call on 15 lands Rawalpindi Man in Jail
News Desk
Rawalpindi: Banni Police arrested a man who allegedly misused the emergency helpline 15 by making a fake call about a motorcycle snatching incident.
According to a police spokesman, the suspect reported that four armed men had snatched his motorcycle and escaped. Acting promptly, police reached the spot but investigations revealed the claim was false, and the matter was actually a financial dispute between parties.
Police registered a case and arrested the caller. SP Rawal Saad Arshad appreciated the swift response of the police team but cautioned that helpline 15 is a critical service for citizens in real emergencies. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who misuse it, as such calls waste resources and divert attention from genuine cases.
