Falling Temperatures Drive up Demand of Winter Apparels

Rawalpindi: The garrison city’s colours are already beginning to change as fall clears the lush green trees of their leaves and winter approaches. The city’s markets have also caught up.

Winter had finally arrived, and both the federal capital city and the garrison city noticed an abrupt increase in demand for warm clothing and jackets.

Winter typically begins in the middle of December but this year, the earlier temperature decrease sparked an early fall demand for winter goods.

To attract customers, a variety of clothing and accessories, such as gloves, woollen hats, mufflers, pullovers, sweater-shirts, and jackets, are hanging in front of stores and stalls.

In addition to woollies, there are tonnes of quilts, bed covers, blankets, and rugs for sale at markets and weekly bazaars. Crowds of people from all social classes may be seen haggling with sellers there.

“There is no other option except to buy winter clothes to beat the cold,” said Nasir, a resident of Waris Khan.

Tahir Chaudry, a visitor, reported that costs for winter clothing have increased by roughly twenty to fifty percent from the previous season.
