Fake Bomb Threats Target Indian Airlines; Minor Arrested

Mumbai: In a series of hoax threats targeting Indian airlines, a flight from Germany was recently affected, landing safely in Mumbai, according to airline officials on Thursday.
Over a dozen false bomb threats have been reported against various Indian airlines this week, prompting government and civil aviation authorities to issue warnings of “very strict action” against those responsible.
Vistara Airlines announced that its passenger jet flying from Frankfurt to Mumbai encountered a “security threat” via social media but successfully reached its intended destination. The airline stated, “We are fully cooperating with the security agencies to complete the mandatory security checks.”
India’s Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu, revealed late Wednesday that police had apprehended a minor linked to bomb threats against three flights.
“All others responsible for the disruptions will be identified and duly prosecuted,” Naidu emphasized.
Among the flights impacted was an Air India aircraft traveling from New Delhi to Chicago, which was forced to make an emergency landing in Canada on Tuesday.
On the same day, Singaporean authorities scrambled fighter jets to escort an Air India Express plane in response to security concerns.
