Islamabad: As the holy month of Ramazan approaches, preparations have gained momentum in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Markets, mosques, and community centers are bustling with activity as residents stock up on groceries, decorations, and other essentials for the 30-day fasting period.

In Islamabad, major shopping centers are witnessing a surge in customers, with shopkeepers offering discounts and special promotions on Ramazan-related items. Similarly, in Rawalpindi, markets like Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar, and Saddar are crowded with people buying dates, fruits, and other food items for sehri and iftar.

To ensure a smooth supply of essential commodities, city administrations have stepped up efforts. District administrations have established price control committees to monitor the prices of essential items and prevent hoarding.

Meanwhile, mosques and community centers are being decorated and renovated to accommodate the large number of worshippers attending Taraweeh prayers.

Maria Khan, a resident of Islamabad, expressed her excitement for Ramazan, saying, “The city is taking on a festive look, and the excitement is palpable. I’m looking forward to spending quality time with my family and friends during iftar and Taraweeh prayers.”

Another resident, Qadir Rehman, shared his preparations, stating, “I have been shopping for new clothes and accessories for Ramazan. The markets are offering great deals, and I’m excited to try out some new recipes.” He emphasized the spiritual significance of the holy month, adding, “Ramazan is a time for reflection and growth, and I am grateful for the opportunity to embark on this journey with my community.”

With just a few days left before the start of Ramazan, the twin cities are bracing for a month of spiritual reflection, charity, and community bonding.
