Court dismisses bail plea of Falak Javed in fake video case
A session court on Friday dismissed the post-arrest bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Falak Javed in a case pertaining to the alleged uploading of a fake video of a provincial minister.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Sajida Ahmed heard the bail petition filed by the accused.
During the hearing, the defence counsel argued for the release of his client whereas the prosecution opposed the request, stating that strong evidence was available against the accused.
After reviewing the case record and arguments, the court rejected the request for bail.
The case was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against Falak Javed, who is currently on judicial remand in jail. The activist had moved the court for bail, seeking release pending trial.
