Faisalabad Goes Electric with 30 New Bus Service
News Desk
Faisalabad: Faisalabad has taken a major leap towards eco-friendly urban mobility with the arrival of 30 electric buses, marking the city’s first step in overhauling its public transport system under the Punjab government’s green initiative.
According to a district administration spokesman, the electric bus service—set to be inaugurated soon by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz—will initially operate on seven designated routes, offering citizens a safe, modern, and affordable commuting option.
Dedicated depots have already been set up at Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Sargodha Road, and Gattwala Road to ensure smooth operations.
Officials say the new fleet is expected to ease traffic congestion, slash fuel costs, and cut air pollution, while providing reliable daily travel particularly benefiting students and workers.
Calling the project a “milestone for Faisalabad,” the administration said the initiative will not only transform the city’s public transport landscape but also set a model for expanding eco-friendly transit solutions across Punjab.
The introduction of electric buses, it added, represents a “major transformation” for Faisalabad, combining comfort, affordability, and environmental responsibility in one ride.
