Faisal Shadi Khel Tops Qualifying Round of 10th Thal Jeep Rally

Muzaffargarh: The qualifying round of the 10th Thal Jeep Rally concluded with high-speed thrills and fierce competition, as top racers from across Pakistan showcased their driving prowess on a challenging 3-kilometre track.

In the Prepared Category, Faisal Shadi Khel emerged as the fastest driver, clocking an impressive one minute and 30 seconds to take the lead. He was closely followed by Muhammad Raza Saeed, who finished just two seconds behind at 1:32, while veteran racer Sahibzada Sultan secured third place with 1:33. Seasoned contender Nadir Magsi came in fourth with a time of 1:34, making it one of the tightest finishes in recent rally history.

The Women’s Prepared Category witnessed an equally intense contest. Salma Khan dominated with a lap time of 1:57, narrowly edging out Dina Patel, who completed the course in 1:58. Both racers were praised for their exceptional control and consistency on the rough desert track.

In the Stock Category, young racer Hassan Ali Magsi impressed with a leading time of 1:43, followed by Syed Asif Imam at 1:44, and Muhammad Rayan Khan at 1:45.

Officials said the qualifying round has set the stage for an action-packed main event, where racers will take on the vast and demanding Thal desert — a true test of skill, endurance, and passion for motorsport.

Meanwhile, the four-day 10th Jeep rally began here on Thursday after completion of all arrangements under the joint venture of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) and the district administration.

The thrilling event will be held across the desert fields of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, and Layyah, where racers from across the country and abroad will compete to prove their mettle.

According to the schedule issued by the district government, the registration process along with technical and medical inspections started at 9:00 a.m. and continued until 3:00 pm.
