Faisal Mosque, Key Areas Under Tight Security

Islamabad: Security in the federal capital was significantly tightened on Friday ahead of Youm-ul-Quds processions, with authorities deploying over 3,500 police personnel and establishing special pickets to ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of the event.
During inspections, police officials, led by IG Rizwan Randhawa, directed officers at various locations to carry out their duties diligently and maintain order throughout the city.
Strict security arrangements were put in place around major mosques and imambargahs, including the Faisal Mosque, while entry and exit points to Islamabad were closely monitored to prevent any untoward incidents.

IG Rizvi confirmed that well-equipped contingents of Islamabad Police were conducting regular patrols across the city to reinforce security. He emphasized that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority.
Randhawa added that, following directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, all available resources were being utilised to ensure public safety, and comprehensive measures were in place to support the smooth conduct of the processions.
Authorities urged residents to follow security guidelines and cooperate with law enforcement personnel during the observances.
