Nowshera: A powerful explosion occurred during Friday prayers at Darul Uloom Haqqania, a well-known seminary in Akora Khattak, injuring several people, including Maulana Hamidul Haq, son of the institution’s founder, Maulana Samiul Haq.

Rescue officials confirmed that multiple individuals sustained serious injuries, and emergency teams from Rescue 1122 have reached the scene.

The injured are being transported to nearby hospitals, while an emergency has been declared in all medical facilities in Peshawar.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police told Samaa TV that initial investigations suggest the explosion was a suicide attack.

Authorities have cordoned off the area as security forces launch a thorough investigation. Approximately 25 security personnel had been deployed at the seminary due to prior threats. Officials are coordinating with intelligence agencies to address security challenges.

Darul Uloom Haqqania, often referred to as the “University of Jihad,” was founded by Maulana Samiul Haq, a prominent religious scholar.
