Islamabad: In a sharp escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned an “unprovoked and brutal” Indian attack that martyred 26 Pakistani civilians, including women and children. The minister’s statement, issued via social media, sparked widespread public outrage and international concern.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of innocent lives, Naqvi declared, “We mourn this heartbreaking loss—but let it be clear: every drop of their blood will be avenged.” He described the attack as a test of Pakistan’s resilience, affirming the nation’s unity and strength: “Pakistan’s spirit is unbreakable. Our morale is high, and our response will be resolute.”

He concluded his message with a patriotic declaration, “Pakistan Zindabad,” accompanied by the national flag emoji.

Interior Minister Briefs Foreign Diplomats

In a significant diplomatic move, Naqvi held a crucial meeting with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad to discuss the post-attack situation. The meeting, also attended by US Political Counselor Zack Harkinrider and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, aimed to update the U.S. on the grave regional developments.

During the briefing, Naqvi conveyed Pakistan’s serious concerns over India’s actions, stating that “India has put the peace and stability of South Asia at stake” and “blatantly violated international laws by targeting civilians.” He emphasized that Pakistan has exercised maximum restraint but warned that its commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness.

“We gave a strong and appropriate response in defense of our homeland,” Naqvi said, stressing that Pakistan will never allow any compromise on its national security. He added that friendly nations had been forewarned of India’s destabilizing intentions, and urged the international community to take notice.

The deadly incident and subsequent diplomatic efforts reflect rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with global powers now urging restraint and dialogue to avoid further escalation.
