Enhanced Vigilance: ICT police install 50 more CCTV cameras

Islamabad: Islamabad police have installed roughly 50 more CCTV cameras in different places of the city to increase security and link commercial area cameras to the safe city project,
According to a police source, the department has added more cameras following an evaluation of the city’s surveillance and security system. In order to assure better oversight of the commercial sectors, he said that work is already underway to install security cameras in all markets and business areas as part of the safe city project.
He stated that the addition of more cameras would expand coverage of crucial areas and contribute to an improvement in the city’s law and order situation. He praised the efforts of the business community for using their resources to put cameras in the market. The source said that taking this action will enhance market security and reduce instances of theft, mobile snatching, and other crimes in commercial areas of the city.
