Islamabad: Women have played vital roles globally in preserving both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, ensuring its continuity amidst evolving societal dynamics.

Their multifaceted contributions across various spheres, including family and household, significantly contribute to societal advancement and well-being.

Through education and empowerment, women actively participate in the workforce, driving progress in political, economic, and social arenas.These views were expressed by Devcom Pakistan’s Executive Director, Munir Ahmed, at an event organized in connection with International Women’s Day in Islamabad on Friday.

It is worth mentioning here that March 8 is recognised by the UN as a day dedicated to women’s rights, empowerment, and mainstreaming of their work.Munir Ahmed emphasised the pivotal role of CSR in community development, particularly in educating, empowering, and maintaining the well-being of women.

However, despite numerous initiatives, Pakistan’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) fails to adequately account for CSR contributions.

It’s imperative to highlight the importance of CSR in achieving national SDGs and to integrate these efforts into the assessment of progress.
