Election of Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sindh Today

Islamabad: The chief ministers of Punjab and Sindh will be elected today (Monday).
Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is the candidate of PML-N from Punjab and Murad Ali Shah is the chief ministerial candidate of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from Sindh.
PML-N candidate Maryam Nawaz will compete with Sunni Ittehad Council nominated candidate Rana Aftab Ahmed in Punjab Chief Minister election.

Similarly, PPP’s candidate from Sindh Murad Ali Shah will face MQM Pakistan’s candidate Ali Soorshi.
As the PML-N in Punjab and the PPP in Sindh have a majority, their nominees Maryam Nawaz and Murad Ali Shah are certain to win.
On the other hand, Owais Qadir Shah Speaker and Anthony Naveed Deputy Speaker of People’s Party have been elected Sindh Assembly.
