Elderly Citizen Fatally Struck by Train in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: An elderly individual tragically lost their life after being struck by a train in the Sadar area of Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Reports indicate that the man, identified as 77-year-old Muhammad Yaqub, was attempting to cross the railway track despite an oncoming train.

Eyewitnesses stated that Yaqub and other seniors were seen crossing the tracks in front of the moving train, leading to the fatal collision.

Following the incident, rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene, but unfortunately, Yaqub succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

His body was then transported to the hospital for further procedures, as confirmed by Muhammad Usman, the spokesman for 1122.
