Islamabad: The district administration has launched a firm crackdown on unauthorized agents operating outside the excise office, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals. This action is part of a broader initiative to address the issue of intermediary interference.
The operation, led by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of the Industrial Area, targeted these unauthorized agents and aimed to reduce their influence. The spokesperson for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration confirmed the arrests.
Director General of Excise, Irfan Nawaz Memon, urged citizens to bypass these agents and directly approach the excise offices for their services. To facilitate this, additional service counters have been established to streamline the process.
Memon also called on the public to support the efforts against unauthorized agents by reporting any instances where they were solicited for payments to expedite their work. The administration assured that such cases would be addressed promptly.
This crackdown is part of a larger effort by the district administration to ensure that government services remain accessible without the interference of unauthorized third parties.
