Eid Likely on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia as Shawwal Moon Remains Hidden

Islamabad: A meeting will be convened today (Monday) to observe the Shawwal moon in Saudi Arabia.
Today is the 29th of Ramazan in Saudi Arabia and astronomers indicate that the Shawwal moon is unlikely to be visible in Saudi Arabia today (Monday).
Given this astronomical information, Eid al-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the Central Riwat-i-Hilal Committee will convene tomorrow (Tuesday), on the evening of the 29th of Ramazan, to sight the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, chairman of the Sighting of the Crescent Committee, the meeting will take place in Islamabad.
Participants will include members of the Sighting of the Crescent Committee, officials from the Department of Meteorology, SPARCO, and representatives from the Science and Technology sector.
The meeting venue is the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Kohsar Complex, while the Zonal Rit-i-Hilal Committees will hold their meetings at designated locations.
During the meeting, testimonies regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon will be received.
According to forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there is a strong possibility of sighting the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan tomorrow.
Sources from the PMD suggest that on April 9, visibility will be clear in most parts of the country, and the moon will be sufficiently old for human observation.
