Education Crucial in Islam for Social Development: Dr Zakir Naik

Islamabad: Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik emphasized the importance of education in Islam for social development, highlighting its role in providing equal opportunities for learning, growth, and prosperity.
He delivered this message during a lecture organized by Pakistan Sweet Homes on Tuesday.
Dr. Naik underscored the need to acquire both religious and worldly knowledge for a balanced and complete life.
He remarked that the first word revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was “read,” stressing the vital importance of education in Islam.
Citing Quranic verses, he highlighted the emphasis placed on knowledge and intellectual discovery, noting that Muslims have historically been at the forefront of these pursuits.
Dr. Naik also called for unity among the Muslim Ummah, urging Muslim nations to set aside their differences and unite under the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. He reiterated that Islam is a complete code of life, advocating peace, tolerance, and love.
A special documentary on the efforts of Pakistan Sweet Homes was presented during the event, showcasing how more than 10,000 orphaned children receive support, including food, education, and medical care.
Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Homes, Zamurrad Khan, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Zakir Naik for his visit and continuous support, particularly in the areas of education, co-curricular activities, and the care of orphans.
