ECP Guarantees Seamless 2024 IT
APP
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially confirmed the smooth functioning of all operational and IT systems during the 2024 general elections. According to the ECP spokesperson, a modernized and automated election management system has been readied to transmit and compile election results efficiently.
This automated system has undergone rigorous testing and received updates to assist returning officers, ensuring data preservation for future reference, particularly in the early stages of the elections. However, challenges surfaced in remote areas with internet connectivity issues, affecting the sending of nominated candidate lists to election commissioners.

To aid returning officers, the EMS has been enhanced with additional features. Its primary purpose remains the transmission and compilation of election results, to be exclusively used on polling day. Contrary to claims of failure, the EMS hasn’t been put into operation yet.
The ECP reassures that the EMS poses no risks to the transmission and tabulation of election results. Their confidence in the preparations for the 2024 general elections and the functionality of the Election Management System remains unwavering.
Any concerns expressed in specific circles regarding this matter are baseless. Efforts are being made to ensure all returning officers have access to fiber-optic facilities, and Wi-Fi devices are provided as an alternative. Importantly, the internet isn’t a necessity for tabulating election results.
