Islamabad: Dubai’s government has revealed plans for the development of a groundbreaking 200-meter-long floating bridge in the Al Mamzar area, exclusively for pedestrians.
Reports from Arab media indicate that this ambitious project will encompass the modernization of 4.3 km of Al Mamzar Beach and 1.4 km of Jumeirah 1 over the span of 18 months, with an estimated budget of approximately 355 million dirhams.
Initiated under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, the aim is to elevate Dubai’s beaches to a world-class standard.
These enhancements are also designed to address the challenges posed by climate change, with over half a million cubic meters of beach sand slated for utilization in this endeavor.
The comprehensive revamp will feature an 11 km cycle and running track across both beaches, complemented by a scenic 5 km tree-lined walkway.
Additionally, facilities such as designated areas for barbecues, fitness activities, children’s games, beach rest houses, and seasonal attractions will be incorporated.
Moreover, the beaches will boast modern amenities including an automated irrigation system for maintaining lush greenery, 1400 parking spaces, safety deposit boxes, Wi-Fi access, electronic screens, beach rescue services, and 100 security cameras linked to central control rooms managed by the Dubai Municipality and Police.
Further announcements reveal plans to transform Deira Beach into a 24-hour destination. Supervised by Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Chairman of the Executive Council.
This project signifies a significant step towards enhancing Dubai’s recreational infrastructure and fostering a vibrant coastal lifestyle.
